This is all part of some zany PR stunt by phone manufacturer Gigaset.  Until 9th May, you can talk to the parrot (actually one of three parrots) live via their facebook page. You may not get the most stimulating conversation but it seems like the parrot(s) and audience are enjoying it.

Parrots can be great additions to the family or wonderful companions for people living alone. But are they really suitable as Christmas gifts or at any other time or year?
